  • A dust collector is a system used to enhance the quality of air released by collecting dust and other impurities from air or gas.

  • Main types of industrial dust collectors are Cyclone separators,Wet scrubbers, Bag filters(Fabric filters), Electrostatic precipitators

  • The selection of a dust collector should be based on the following general factors:
      - Dust concentration and particle size
      - Degree of dust collection required
      - Characteristics of air  stream
      - Characteristics of dust
      - Methods of disposal

Technical Features

Applications

  • Bag filters, commonly known as baghouses, use filtration to separate dust particulates from dusty gases. 

  • Dust-laden gases enter the baghouse and pass through fabric bags that act as filters. 
    The bags can be of woven or felted cotton, synthetic, or glass-fiber material in either a tube or envelope shape.

  • The methods of bag cleaning include Shaking, Reverse air, Pulse jet, etc.
     

  • Suitable for high-capacity gas treatment 

  • Suitable for removing a dust diameter of 0.05 to 100 μm.

Technical Features

Applications

  • Electrostatic precipitators use electrostatic forces to separate dust particles from exhaust gases. 

  • A number of high-voltage, direct-current discharge electrodes are placed between grounded collecting electrodes. 
    The airborne particles receive a negative charge as they pass through the ionized field between the electrodes. 
    These charged particles are then attracted to a positively charged electrode and adhere to it.

  • The collected material on the electrodes is removed by rapping or vibrating the collecting electrodes either continuously or at a predetermined interval. 

  • Available to collect up to 0.001μm of fine particles

  • Efficiency is high (99.9% or higher)

  • The pressure loss is low and the power cost of the blower is low.

  • Easy to repair

  • Suitable for high-capacity, high-temperature gas treatment

  • Suitable for removing a dust diameter of 0.001 to 10 μm.
